Als '''Eiserner Vorhang''' wird sowohl der ideologische Konflikt als auch die physisch abgeriegelte Grenze bezeichnet, durch die Europa in der Zeit des [[Kalter Krieg|Kalten Krieges]] geteilt war. Er bildete nach dem [[Zweiter Weltkrieg|Zweiten Weltkrieg]] bis zu den [[Epochenjahr 1989|Revolutionen im Jahr 1989]] die Trennlinie zwischen den [[Soziale Marktwirtschaft|marktwirtschaftlich]] orientierten demokratischen Staaten im Westen und den [[Historische_Stichworte/Zentralverwaltungswirtschaft|planwirtschaftlich]] geleiteten, realsozialistischen Diktaturen im Osten.
